About Sony Ericsson Image Editor Software

by Paul Abbey

If you have a Sony Ericsson phone you should be aware of Sony Ericsson Image Editor. This program is free software that lets you crop, zoom, rotate and adjust color, contrast and brightness settings for many PC image file formats, and send the resulting image directly to your Sony Ericsson phone. Sony Ericsson Image Editor is a good free alternative to using an expensive photo editing program like Adobe Photoshop. It is by no means your only option though.

In addition to Sony Ericsson Image Editor you have a number of free image editors. The first, and perhaps most famous of these, is GIMP. GIMP is an open source alternative to Photoshop or Corel Paint Shop Pro that is available for many operating systems including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and various derivatives of UNIX and *BSD.GIMP can be a bit overwhelming for novice users, and support mostly comes from the third party users of the program as GIMP is not backed by the operations of a major company such as Adobe, Corel, or Sony.

If you are looking for something easier to use, but still free, then you also have an entirely different option. There are a couple of free online image editors available which require no downloads and are simple and easy to use. Two of these are Picnic Image Editor and MyTheme Image Editor. Both are free, although a subscription based Premium edition of Picnic is available for those who want more features. The benefits to using a web based image editor are obvious: It can be used anywhere that you have access to a modern browser, requires no download and installation, and does not take up space on your computer. Picnic also allows you to edit HTML. You can visit their site for more information about features and to try them out.

Perhaps neither of these is what you are looking for. Maybe you want a more powerful and feature rich image editor, but one that is backed by a dedicated support staff. Then you may want to look Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Photoshop you may be familiar with, although expensive, it is viewed as the standard of the digital graphics design community. Paint Shop Pro is, however, also quite popular. Sometimes referred to as the "poor man's Photoshop," Paint Shop Pro is quite a bit cheaper than Photoshop and for some users possibly easier to use due to its smaller feature list and target audience of the average consumer. While Sony Ericsson Image Editor is a great program, you do have other options available to you. The choice is yours.
