Num akor (sometimes written “Nom Ah Kor” or “Num Ah Kor Tnaot”) is a traditional Khmer steamed cake made from fermented rice flour, palm sugar, and water.
It’s often served with coconut cream or grated coconut.
All the ingredients used to make the cake, from the raw materials to the packaging, are sourced locally. These include ripe palm fruit, mature coconut, young coconut, palm sugar, banana leaves, and palm leaves for making the ‘smok’ (traditional woven packaging).
